Blueberry extravaganza!

"You ought to have seen what I saw on my way
To the village, through Mortenson's pasture to-day:
Blueberries as big as the end of your thumb,
Real sky-blue, and heavy, and ready to drum
In the cavernous pail of the first one to come!
-Robert Frost

It’s berry season! The kids’ favorite. We love spending time collecting mounds of raspberries, blueberries, mulberries and blackberries. The raspberries and blackberries we get from our own backyard. Mulberries we get from grandma and grandpa but blueberries we get from Spicer’s Orchard of Fenton, MI. They are in full swing and ready for you!

Grab your bucket (or use one of theirs),
take a hay ride to the field

and spend some time in the summer sun collecting beautiful berries from the rows and rows of bushes.

Now if harvesting isn’t your forte there are lots of already picked fresh berries in the market. It’s a win-win situation. Pick lots! Buy lots! Support your local community. Eat them, bake them, freeze them. We love having blueberries for breakfast or throwing a bunch of frozen ones into our smoothies. They are berry berry good and packed full of antioxidants.

Peace, Love and Blueberries!
